Yes. Specialist Japanese Head Spa tools are incorporated throughout your experience alongside hands-on massage techniques. These include a silicone scalp scrubber, scalp scraper, jade comb and electric scalp massager, which are used to cleanse, stimulate and massage the scalp.
The tools are an integral part of our Japanese Head Spa experience and are used alongside our hands-on techniques to enhance your treatment.
-
Please do not wash your hair for 48 hours before your appointment, as this allows us to better assess your scalp and provide a more tailored treatment.
Please ensure your hair is fully detangled and free from styling products before arriving. There is no need to do anything else to prepare your hair — simply arrive and let us take care of the rest.
-
Your hair will be gently rough-dried at the end of your experience. We do not provide a blow-dry or styling service, so please bear this in mind when planning your visit.
-
Our treatments are suitable for most colour-treated and chemically treated hair. However, professional cleansing treatments may have an effect on freshly applied colour or toner, particularly when the colour is very new.
If you have recently had your hair coloured, toned, chemically treated or had a keratin treatment, we recommend allowing some time before your Head Spa. If you are unsure whether your hair is suitable, please contact us before booking so we can advise you.
-
If you have a sensitive scalp or a diagnosed scalp condition, please contact us before booking so we can advise whether a Head Spa is suitable for you.
If your scalp is particularly irritated, inflamed, broken or compromised, we may recommend postponing your appointment until it has settled.
Please refer to our Booking Information for our full list of contraindications.
-
Unfortunately, we are unable to perform Head Spa treatments on hair extensions of any kind, braids, sew-ins or locs, as full access to the scalp is required throughout the experience. If you wear extensions or protective styles, we recommend booking your Head Spa between refits or once the style has been removed.
-
For ongoing scalp and hair care, we generally recommend having a Head Spa every 4–6 weeks. However, the ideal frequency can vary depending on your scalp, hair and individual needs.
Your therapist can advise you on a suitable routine following your treatment.
-
